Pioneering a new super-Alpine range of 5,000 metre peaks

For experienced climbers this trip offers the dream opportunity of exploring and pioneering a new range of peaks equal in stature and challenge to anything in the Alps.

• The Khatling valley is easily reached in 2 days from Delhi and a beautiful three day trek leads to a base camp close under the range.
• For the next 16 days we will explore and attempt routes up to 5748m altitude on rock spires and icy cathedrals.
• The grades of climbing will range from Alpine AD to TD in standard; routes will typically be 400 to 600 metres in length with challenging glacier approaches
• All members should be competent at VS/HVS on rock and grade III/IV in winter. Prior high-altitude climbing is helpful but not essential; however Alpine experience is advisable
• By focusing on peaks of medium altitude acclimatisation can be gained while climbing on actual routes rather than repetitive snow-plodding.
• Guides with vast experience of technical Alpine climbing will lead the trip; with a low ratio of guides to members a high flexibility in choice and standard of routes is assured
